To save some time I will only inform you about the three most popular breeds which are Yorkshire, Hampshire, and Duroc.

york.jpg

This is a picture of the Yorkshire, also known as the Large White.  The Yorkshire has pink skin and "pricked" ears. It is renowned for its quick growth rate and long deep sides making it very suitable for bacon production. It is found equally at home, outside, or inside under intensive conditions.

hamp.jpg

This is a picture of a Hampshire hog.  The Hampshire is a pig with almost unique colorings consisting of a white belt on a black body. When crossed with other breeds the black color may almost disappear leaving only random blue-black spots. This pig is most often associated with outdoor production.

duroc.jpg

This is a picture of a Duroc hog.  The Duroc is a very popular breed in the USA. The color can range from the reddy-brown as in the picture to an almost yellow color. A popular breed for crossbreeding programs.
